Floral Trends for Spooky Season 2024
Halloween is the perfect time to add a bit of magic to decorations, including floral arrangements. With the right flowers and accessories, you will find yourself creating truly bewitching arrangements. Keep reading to learn about the most recent floral trends for the 2024 spooky season.
Pumpkin Vases
When you think of Halloween, you may think about jack-o-lanterns and pumpkins as part of the spooky decor. Pumpkins can also serve as the perfect base for your floral arrangement. Carve out the inside of a pumpkin, then place your arrangement inside. Consider adding Oxblood Dahlias that provide a deep red color. Include purple hydrangeas, yellow and peach-colored roses, maroon-colored celosia, and some greenery.
Spray Rose Bouquets
Consider a spray rose bouquet if you are looking for something a little less spooky and a little more elegant. Spray roses are available in many colors, so you can mix several colors together, such as reds and oranges, or use one color of spray roses. You can also add sprigs of greenery to the bouquet or stalks of wheat. These bouquets can be great centerpieces or decorations for a Halloween party.
Dried Flowers and Grasses
Using dried flowers and grasses in an arrangement has been used for a long time now, but it continues to be a popular trend. It isn’t just for those who enjoy the bohemian or classic look either, but it can also be used for different looks as well. Using dried flowers such as hydrangeas, roses, grasses, and thistles can give a haunting but vintage look.
You can even add unexpected elements such as lavender and ruscus. Consider adding live flowers with dried flowers. To finish off the look, use antique vases or gothic-looking pieces such as an urn.
LED Lighting and Glow-in-the-Dark Items
A new florist trend this year is to add lighting to the arrangement. This can include tiny fairy lights strung amongst the flowers or flowers that have been sprayed with a floral glow-in-the-dark spray. To make an even spookier look, add a battery-operated candle in the midst of the floral arrangement or use glow-in-the-dark spray on some of the flowers so that the light casts a creepy glow onto the other flowers.
Using Whimsical Elements
Even though the Halloween season is thought to be about spookiness, tricks, and treats, it can also include an element of fun as well. This means that rather than only using dark-colored florals, you can add whimsical fun, such as small spiders and spiderwebs. Add in bats or tiny ghosts made from felt. If you have young children or are having a family Halloween party, you can include these fun floral arrangements in your decorations.
Dark Colored Arrangements for a Spooky Appearance
This season is all about dark and moody hues that give a spooky look to floral arrangements. Colors such as purple, maroon, black, or dark blue hues give a different twist to a dark and moody arrangement. You can then add other pops of color, such as different shades of red, oranges, and even yellows.
