Unique Flowers to Make Your Corsage Stand Out

Unique Flowers to Make Your Corsage Stand Out

Prom and wedding season is fast approaching, meaning selecting the perfect corsage to complement formal attire. Corsages are worn to honor the wearer, such as mothers and grandmothers at weddings, symbolizing their important roles in the bride and groom's lives, and men gift a corsage to their date as a gesture of respect and appreciation.

The flowers are selected by their symbolism, the personality of the person wearing them, and the color she is wearing. Choosing hardy flowers that will last in the heat, with the movement of hands, and no water source are considered as well.

Roses

Corsages often feature roses, as they are visually stunning and come in a wide range of unique colors. Different colored roses symbolize different occasions, sentiments, and emotions. Adding spray roses in bud form can add a unique and classy look. They also have hardy stems to endure the hustle and bustle of your occasion and a lovely, sweet scent that adds that extra element to your corsage.

Carnations

Carnations come in many single and two-toned colors and depict a variety of emotions and sentiments similar to roses. Carnations can be used as a focal point of the corsage, or combined with others to add a unique texture. They have sturdy petals and a strong stem to last you the entire evening.

Lisianthus

Also known as “Texas Bluebell” or “Eustoma,” lisianthus looks like a rose and comes in pink, purple, white, and blue. They are known for their hardiness and long vase life.

Chrysanthemums

Mums are classic and have been used for decades, but that does not mean they can not be part of a unique corsage arrangement. They are hardy and come in bright colors and shapes.

Orchids

Orchids can bring a more elegant and exotic look to your attire. They come in vivid pinks, yellows, purples, white, soft pinks, and light greens. Orchids come in a variety of shapes and sizes, too.

Freesia

Freesias are known for their vibrant colors and enchanting fragrance. They have elegant, trumpet-shaped blooms and add a touch of refinement to any corsage.

Making Corsages Unique

Using creativity, personalization, and detail can turn any selection of flowers into a unique corsage, and your florist can use these techniques to personalize it:

  • Adding meaningful elements: We can add personal touches such as your favorite flowers, colors, or flowers that symbolize your occasion.
  • Playing with colors and textures: Mixing and matching flower varieties, colors, and textures can create unique and visually striking corsages.
  • Add accents: Adding accents such as pins, crystals, pearls, or charms can add sparkle and personality.
  • Wrapping: Using decorative ribbons, lace, or fabric to wrap the corsage.

Florists can think outside the box to come up with unconventional ideas or themes and put together a truly unique corsage that will make your prom, wedding, or other special event more memorable.

Everyone’s personal preferences in their corsage will create a unique look. Our experienced florists at FlowerWorks can help make your corsage uniquely you for prom or your wedding. Stop by our store or contact us online.
